and we disembarked from our bl[ack ship ]

[ ] see sharks have grown two legs we think of

those treatises of Androkles who has said

—better the fish on land than the man at sea

so we hu[ng our harps ]

[ ] akropolis by the grey sea beat back waves and

we spoke to the leader of the dogfish who said this

—[ primiti]ve man has come our sa[vior ]

—and who wo[uld ] same

so we readied our spears and like the chariot of Helios

sinking in the morning in[to the m]aw of th[e grey s]ea

we sunk them into th[e bla]ck earth and their

lu[ngs bre]athed ou[t their m]anhood and so our leader

Megapenthes spoke out with win[ged word]s

—thus we h[ave ] an[d ]

—now let us dep[art i]s ours

so we climbed aboard the black ship and lest the do[gf-

ish ] we set fire to their holy city

to be reb[uil]t anew by our scions and their children
